Raping America

Strauss Kahn is still a pig, by all accounts, but we knew that already.  International organizations are rife with oligarchic ass-pinchers, pedophiles, rapists, shakedown artists and thieves.

Regardless, what happened in that Sofitel hotel room between him and the maid has been called into question.  Kahn's defense team admits they had sex, but they insist it was consensual (how would you like to face your wife with that defense?  "Honest honey, I'm not a rapist!  It was consensual!")

Europeans smelled a setup from the start, and it looks like they were right.  First the phone call from the alleged victim to her criminal boyfriend, in immigration lockup, where she told him, "Don’t worry, this guy has a lot of money. I know what I’m doing,"

Prosecutors then discovered...
...she had lied about her immigration, about being gang raped in Guinea, about her experiences in her homeland and about her finances, according to two law enforcement officials. She had been linked to people suspected of crimes. She changed her account of what she did immediately after the encounter with Mr. Strauss-Kahn.
She lied to gain asylum in this country:
The housekeeper also told investigators that she had been gang raped in Guinea.
She described soldiers destroying the home where she lived with her husband, and said they were both beaten because of their opposition to the regime. She said her husband died in jail.
But then, in a subsequent interview with Manhattan prosecutors, she said the story was false, one she had been urged to tell by a man.
She lied about her financial status to scam benefits from the government:
In recent weeks, investigators collected bank records showing deposits of thousands of dollars in Arizona, Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania to an account in her name.
The woman had repeatedly said that the Sofitel was her only source of income.

The district attorney’s office said the woman had lied about her income to maintain her public housing, and had claimed a friend’s child as her own dependent to increase her tax refund.
So regardless of whether she attempted to shakedown DSK, she has definitely scammed the United States of America and We the People.  We should deport her back to Guinea.

Uncle Stupid's Gonna Take Care of You...

Reading through this chain of fraud and lies, I see a common thread:  Stupid immigration policies that let in cigarette bandits, dope peddlers, welfare cheats and devout Muslim prostitutes.  We let people in because they know how to concoct a good heartsob story, and we're a soft touch.  Too many "victims" then use their privileged status in The Land of The Free and Home of the Brave to conduct criminal activities.

This is why immigration, and even asylum, should be conditional, for five to ten years.  Anything more than a traffic ticket and you're out.  This woman should be stripped of any status we granted her and deported back to Guinea.

Yes, the accuser should be deported immediately.

As for DSK, well, I can't imagine that his wife was unaware of his, ahem, activities.

Doesn't it seem like a bit of a problem in this country when any time a woman cries "rape!" society as a whole believes her and vilifies the man?

It's like being falsley accused of being a child molester. Even if it is completely untrue, and even if the "victim," is a sociopath trying to ruin your good name, you're forever screwed because no one will ever look at you the same.

Yeah, Jack, it ain't fair.

I am proud of our legal system. It worked as designed in this case. Unlike in Europe, a lowly maid accused a powerful man, and we held him in custody and sorted it out.

As I mentioned, DSK is a known perv, but that did not bias this investigation.

Deport them both and the DSK can face more charges in France along similar lines from his ,,,,Goddaughter of all people!

Too bad more detective work by our government would have knows this from the get go. But we can't question people coming in to this country, only when we want to leave we get stripped searched.

We have no control over how a natural born citizen will turnout. But we do or rather should have some control over those that we allow to immigrate to our country.

I'm going to take the cautious position that I don't know what to believe when it comes to this story. Put me on a jury and show me the evidence - then I'll make a decision.

As a libertarian I am generally opposed to obstructions to immigration, but I am also a strong supporter of the rule of law. If immigrating based on a false pretense is grounds for deportation, and the woman lied, by all means, apply the law.

A million people are naturalized here every year, countless more regularly, legally and illegally, come here. Thanks to our idiotically arbitrary insistance on "small government" (as opposed to smart government), we have an Immigration Customs Enforcement agency with only 15,000 employees and less than a 6 bil budget. It's a joke.

Anyways... Strauss Kahn was here as essentially a diplomat, and the girl slipped in. Two very different things.

Now that she's been caught, the veracity of her claims should be reviewed, and if it is found she abused her host, America, then she should be sent home.

As for Europenas, they are no more or less moral than us. We're just idiots who insist we're better, more "exceptional," than everybody else. Another joke.

PART ONE

You might be interested to read this excerpt from a personal letter sent to me by a college friend -- a native-born American who has lived in France since 1967, and has become thoroughly Frenchified, I'm afraid. I neither support nor condemn the content, but share it as an authentic example of how very differently people on the other side of the Atlantic tend to regard things of his nature:

... You in the United States are slowly, insidiously losing your rights.

The recent, deplorable DSK incident, has underlined some basic differences between American and French penal codes; here, the presumption of innocence is a sacred, inalienable right, and it is forbidden to film people being dragged out of a plane with handcuffs on, before a trial and conviction have taken place.

Personally, I am convinced that DSK was framed by the CIA.  You will remember that I have first-hand knowledge of how the "Agency" functions (my my cousin, who worked for the “Agency” was instrumental in the downfall of Communism in Poland, using Lech Walesa as a pawn to achieve their goal.

This in itself was a good thing, but the methods used are subject to doubt; my cousin is retired now, but a son has followed in his footsteps. He had just graduated college about ten years ago, and was here in Paris, before embarking on a "world tour." He was staying with me at the time.

Before leaving the United States, where he lived with his parents. He had sent in his résumé for a job with the "Agency." Normally, there is a ten-month "screening period" for security reasons; he suddenly got a call, at my place, from his mother telling him to return home immediately. He was hired, after ten days' screening, not ten months, and was needed right away to perform a mission.

Just recently, he was in Paris, and we got together for lunch. The next day, he left for London for some "high level" meetings. The following day, Bin Laden was found and executed in Abbotabad, Pakistan. Coincidence? We'll never know.

PART TWO

Concerning DSK, his "womanizing" was a secret for no one; his wife knew, his political opponents knew; everyone knew, but, as France is not a puritanical country, nobody cared. I'm sure the "Agency" put this African Muslim maid into DSK's path, knowing he would fall into the trap; so there was an instance of quick sexual activity that left sperm on the maid's collar, to confirm the DNA test! !ho cares?

The incident was so unimportant, so banal, for DSK, that minutes afterward, he calmly left the hotel to have lunch with his daughter, then calmly took a cab to take his scheduled flight back to Paris.

He wanted to call his wife in Paris before embarking, and realized that he had forgotten his cell-phone at the hotel; he calmly called the hotel to see if they had found his phone, and requested they put it aside and hold it for him for a future visit. He got on the plane, and was seized. The whole world was immediately informed before he’d even been arraigned.
A brilliant, spectacular political career was destroyed in a few minutes [He would very probably have become France's next president next year].

DSK is a brilliant economist, and had done wonders as the head of the World Bank; but the "Agency" couldn't control him; they wanted someone, like the Mexican guy, who would "obey" them like a pawn, so they didn't hesitate to destroy a brilliant, powerful individual.

I'm so glad to be over here, light-years away from all this machination, and the tentacles of the "Agency" ...

PS: DSK's real offense, of course, is that he is an avowed Socialist; it has nothing to do with his sexual proclivities. Anthony Weiner's real offense had nothing to do with his sexual antics either. The guy was a loud, aggressive, pugnacious de facto Communist. They finally got Al Capone on income tax evasion, but he was rightly punished for being responsible for multiple murders and countless other crimes. Whatever it takes to get the bad guys out of circulation is AOK by me. I'm a libertarian, but I am also a pragmatist. ~ FreeThinke

FreeThinke, if you believe "Whatever it takes to get the bad guys out of circulation is AOK by me," then you are neither a libertarian, nor a believer in Superman's old motto, "Truth, justice, and the American way."

I couldn't agree more with clear-cut guidelines about immigrants and those seeking asylum.

I honestly hate the fact that she cried, "rape." When she wasn't. This truly hurts real rape victims in their cases against their attackers. They need all the support they can get and with people like this woman makes it a lot more harder for convictions.

This whole mess stinks like yesterday's diapers.

Jersey: We're in general agreement. Note that I didn't call Europeans immoral scumbags, but generally the people who infest international organizations.

You know, I kinda like Jersey, almost despite himself, but he has an irritating habit of zeroing in pugnaciously on the last sentence or two of lengthy articles and ignoring the detailed substance that came before.

No libertarian I would want to know would argue that violent thugs caught in the act should ever be allowed to get away with their crimes because of "legal technicalities." Major Hassan, for instance, should have been SHOT DEAD, hacked to pieces, coated in bacon grease and buried in pig manure the INSTANT he was apprehended.

As a society we need to reserve the right to visit SUMMARY JUSTICE on violent offenders caught red-handed. I am -- and always have been -- a huge fan of Bernard Goetz.

Anyone caught entering my house uninvited is very likely to get his balls shot off or get plugged right between the eyes, which is exactly as it SHOULD be.

Get the trash off the streets, and quickly incinerated. The jails are overcrowded with perpetrators of non-violent crimes. Violent criminals should have NO RIGHTS once they are caught in the act. PERIOD!

But that has nothing to do with Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his political and economic impact on the world's stage -- or the characteristic French attitude toward this figure they, apparently, regard as a brilliant asset.

Z,

Apparently this is an accurate reflection of the French attitude towards matters of this kind:

Concerning DSK, his "womanizing" was a secret for no one; his wife knew, his political opponents knew; everyone knew, but, as France is not a puritanical country, nobody cared. These are not my words, but the words of an American expatriate who has lived in France since 1967. The attitude reported is that of most Frenchman, I assure you.

These "SEXCAPADES" are of not importance to most Europeans -- especially the French. They laugh at our outmoded, latter-day Puritanism, and regard it as hopelessly unsophisticated and utterly ridiculous.

@Z: But SF, are you saying you don't think this would have been investigated had it happened in Europe??

Based upon what I've read, a lowly immigrant maid accusing a rich powerful man of anything is an extremely rare event in Europe.

We think of Europe as so advanced, and in many ways it is, but for many aspects of womens and immigrant rights, they are still in the 1950's.

I was friends with immigrants from Kenya and Congo when I lived on the old continent, and the stories they could tell...

It is not the enlightened continent many imagine.

Z said...

SF, I have to respectfully disagree, having lived in Munich for one year and Paris for four.
i'm not sure what you mean by 'enlightened'...but women's rights haven't had to be an issue in years and, of course, the Europeans overly capitulate to any immigrant for his rights, destroying beautiful cultures as the immigrants take over, by the way.

SilverFiddle and Z,

One of the things that make life interesting -- and complicated -- is the many different perspectives people have on issues and circumstances. Many can look at the same situation and each get an entirely different impression of what's really going on.

The person I quoted extensively above is an American. We met in college more than fifty years ago. That fellow is very happy with life in France, and has become thoroughly "socialized" -- in other words accepts the socialist system as a right, just and good thing. He seems either unaware of or unconcerned with the Arab-Muslim immigration issue -- frankly thinks we have been overly influenced and misled by the Israel lobby, yet is anything-but an anti-Semite. He's downright philo-Semitic in fact having made lifelong friendships with any number of European Jews -- most of them wealthy, highly-cultured, well- educated individuals who are -- for some God-forsaken reason -- great advocates of Socialism.

He has friends among the Arab population too, and thinks they are "very nice people."

The life he has made for himself in France is pleasant, but it's not a way I would choose for myself. However, even though his evidence is only anecdotal, it does make me wonder about the validity of the way we've come to regard Europe.

As Z has said many times, her own experience in Munich and Paris was overwhelmingly positive -- even to the point of regarding Europe as something of a Lost Eden.

I don't know. I've not spent enough time across the Atlantic to know much of anything for myself, but I have the greatest respect for all the best aspects of Anglo-European culture, especially in the fields of Music, Art, Literature, Poetry, Architecture, Horticulture and Gastronomy -- and the philosophy that came to us from The Enlightenment, of course.

We could never have done what we have done, and would not have become as great as we did were it not for our Anglo-European heritage.

All the "Rights" movements and "Liberation" movements have come from the left. The overwhelmingly destructive impact of these attempts to force "fairness" on the multitudes has resulted in the "Tyrannization" of the West.

But if a preponderance of the "victims" are contented in their "victimhood," who are we to say they should be miserable?

As libertarians shouldn't we advocate freedom of choice, even if the majority choose to enslave themselves to an almighty State?

We do live in interesting times -- DAMMIT!

Z: Here's Time article indicative of what I'm talking about.

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2074070,00.html

Yes, immigrants have rights, but you don't see the interracial mixing like you do in the states.

Germany in particular is a very insular place, with people in one town viewing those in the next with suspicion, and each country still harbors its chauvinism and bigotry against the neighboring ones.

I am not putting Europe down, just stating what I've personally observed and what I've read as of late.
